Due to the security situation in the Middle East, we have adjusted our flight schedule in the region. We are closely monitoring developments and will update our schedules where possible. We are doing our very best to help you on your way again.

Where we fly right now

KLM is currently not flying through the airspace of Iran, or Iraq. We also do not fly over several countries in the Gulf region. Flights to, from, or via destinations in the region are canceled or adjusted.

Good news: starting Sunday, August 25, we will fly between Amsterdam and Tel Aviv again.

  • Tel Aviv: We will start flying to and from Tel Aviv again on Sunday, August 25. To make these flights safe and reliable, we will make a quick stop in Larnaca, Cyprus. Our crew will stay overnight there to rest. We always check the situation and adjust our flights to keep you safe and give you the best options.
  • Dammam & Riyadh: We have paused all flights to and from Dammam and Riyadh up to and including Saturday, October 24, 2026.
  • Dubai: We have paused all flights to and from Dubai up to and including Saturday, October 24, 2026.

Rebooking and requesting a refund

If you have booked a flight to, from or via the below-listed destinations from Saturday 28 February to Sunday 15 November 2026, you can see below what rebook and refund options we can offer you. These options are only valid if you have a ticket originally issued on or before Friday 9 October 2026.

  • Dubai, AE (DXB)
  • Riyadh, SA (RUH)
  • Dammam, SA (DMM)

1. Rebook to a different travel date

If we canceled your flight, or if you canceled it yourself, you can rebook to a different travel date in My Trip or the KLM app. Please note:

  • You can only change your travel dates for free if the same travel class is available as mentioned on your original ticket.
  • Your new departure date should be before or on Tuesday 15 December 2026.

2. Request a travel voucher

If you prefer to cancel your flight and request a travel voucher:

  • The voucher will be valid for one year from the date of issue.
  • It can be used for all KLM, Air France, Delta, and Virgin Atlantic flights that are offered on the Air France KLM website.
  • The voucher can also be used to buy extra options like upgrades, specific seats, and baggage on KLM and Air France flights.

3. Request a refund

If any of your flights are canceled, you can request a full refund of the ticket and any extras.

Due to the earthquake in Panama from the Friday 09 October to Monday 12 October 2026, some of our flights to, from or via Panama City (PTY) may be disrupted.

Does your original flight depart on Friday 09 October to Monday 12 October 2026 to, from or via Panama City, Panama (PTY)? Then your new departure date should be on or before Thursday 15 October 2026. You can rebook your flight at the latest on Thursday 15 October 2026. Please see below options and rules:

Due to the forecasted Hurricane Simon in Mexico from the Friday 09 October to Saturday 10 October 2026, some of our flights to, from or via Guadalajara (GDL) and Puerto Vallarta (PVR) may be disrupted.

Before you travel, please check TravelDoc for the latest entry requirements, travel documents, and health measures for your destination. Requirements can vary by country and can change on short notice, so make sure to check what applies to you specifically.

We're keeping a close eye on the Ebola outbreak in Central Africa. Some countries have put travel measures in place for those who recently traveled through Entebbe, Uganda – even though the area isn't currently seen as an active risk zone.

Because these travel and entry measures now also apply to our crew, we can no longer operate these flights as planned. That’s why we're canceling our flights to and from Entebbe up to and including Sunday, September 20.

If your flight is affected, we'll reach out to you directly to help you rebook or find another option that works for you.

Traveling to the United States?

Please be aware of these temporary safety rules from the US government:

  • If you recently visited the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): Anyone—including US citizens—who has been in the DRC within 21 days of their flight cannot board a commercial flight to the United States. If you are a US citizen or national, please plan to stay outside the DRC for at least 21 days before entering the United States.
  • If you recently visited Uganda or South Sudan
    •  U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals: If you visited Uganda or South Sudan (and were not in the DRC) within 21 days of arrival in the United States, you must enter through specific designated airports for extra health checks. You can check the CDC website for the list of these designated airports and other helpful health tips.
    • Non-U.S. citizens and non-U.S. nationals: You must stay outside of Uganda, South Sudan, and the DRC for at least 21 days before entering the United States.
